Grant Overview

"Thank you for your interest in the City of Bloomington's Sustainable Neighborhoods Grant program, administered by the Department of Economic and Sustainable Development. This grant offers support for small-scale neighborhood projects that advance goals in the City of Bloomington 2021 Climate Action Plan. The purpose of the Sustainable Neighborhoods Grant Program is to strengthen the sustainability of our communities and spark residential-level participation in meeting climate action objectives. The City seeks to inspire citizens’ investment in these communal climate goals by providing the financial means to take the first step.

Guidelines and eligibility requirement information is available on the program website: https://bloomington.in.gov/sustainability/neighborhood-grants

The following application contains a series of screens asking for applicant information, project details, and file uploads. The person filling out the application may be the Project Liaision or a representative of the organization partnering with the project team of four households.

The application requires a separate questionnaire which is available as a file download. This questionnaire can be edited and customized by the applicant. The questionnaire includes a template budget form for convenience. The completed questionnaire must be uploaded as part of the application before it can be submitted. Other required uploads include letters of commitment from each team member and at least one document that visually represents the project (a map, drawing, etc). There are also screens that allow for optional file uploads of additional documents as needed, such as a property owner authorization letter, permits, contractor quotes, etc.

The program coordinators will review the application after submission and will reach out with any questions. If your application is accepted, you will receive a confirmation email from CiviForm."
