How to apply

  1. Eligibility

"Eligible applicants include nonprofits (schools, childcare centers, libraries, healthcare facilities, grocery stores, etc.), small businesses, and multifamily residential units that house low income residents. The facility must be located within Bloomington city limits. Facilities in historic districts must review plans to alter the exterior appearance of the building with the City of Bloomington Historic Preservation Program Manager before applying. Previous SEEL grant recipients must wait 12 months from receiving the last grant before applying again.

SEEL applicants are eligible for either the solar or energy efficiency grant, but not both in the same year. Battery grants are reserved for non-profit entities that provide essential services related to food, healthcare, housing, childcare, and other social support services."

  2. Leased Facility Owner Agreement

Nonprofits and businesses may apply if they rent their building. The building owner will be required to sign a Building Owner Disclosure Form and Agreement before SEEL grant eligibility is confirmed.

  3. SEEL Application Part 2

If the SEEL Eligibility Form submission is accepted, applicants will receive an emailed link to the next application step in CiviForm.
